Karen S. Beeler

Karen S. Beeler, 56, of Elba died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Rapid City, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul.  Father Rayappa Konka celebrate the mass.  Interment will be in Elba Cemetery in Elba.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Elba Fire and Rescue.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

Karen was born August 4, 1960 in Loup City to Richard and Twila (Heisner) Palu.

She was raised in Loup City and attended Loup City schools where she graduated in 1978.  Karen then attended Mid Plains Community College in North Platte.

She was united in marriage to Nicky Fieldgrove on December 26, 1981 in Elba.

Karen was a homemaker, living in Elba, raising her children along with babysitting for other families.  Later she worked at McCain Foods for nine years, at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul and then at Morris Press in Kearney.

She was married to Jim Beeler on August 8, 2009 in Elba.  The couple lived in Elba and she babysat for her grandchildren which she adored and they meant everything to her.

Karen loved flowers, gardening, baking and visiting with people.  She never knew a stranger.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith.

Karen was a member of the Elba Fire and Rescue Squad for 27 years, serving and helping many people over the years.  She also served as treasurer on the Elba Cemetery Board.

Survivors include her husband, Jim of Elba; Mother, Twila Palu of Worland, WY; two daughters and sons-in-law, Randie and Jeff Spiehs of Cairo and Robin and Lucas Grim of Scotia and after she married Jim, her family expanded including, Mike and Heather Beeler of Kansas City, MO, Misty Beeler of Axtell and Melissa Beeler of Kansas City, MO.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dominque White, Reagan Adams, Tristin Johnson, Tripp Beeler, Emma Grim, Tynnlee Spiehs, Brezlin Beeler and Anistyn Grim; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Kim Palu of Blackhawk, South Dakota, Randy and Shawna Palu of Round Mountain, Nevada and Tim and Christy Palu of Gillette, Wyoming; and a sister and brother-in-law, Kaylyn and Tim Wojtalewicz of Grand Island.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Palu; first husband, Nicky Fieldgrove and a brother, Steve Palu.
