Julia Ann Stevens, 72, of Fairfax, VA died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Her death was wholly unexpected. She was in an automobile accident the proceeding Saturday and sustained injuries that led to her death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Kati Salmons will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Scotia.
Visitation will be held on Monday, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Julia was born March 29, 1941 in Cotesfield to George and Julia (Conger) Stevens.
As a young girl she moved to St. Paul received her education in St. Paul, graduating from St. Paul High School in 1959.
Julia entered the United States Navy in 1961 serving most of her time in Texas, California and Maryland. She received her honorable discharge in 1978 as a Petty Officer. For the past 36 years, she had made her home in Fairfax, VA.
Julia was very involved in genealogy.
She was an active member of the Fairfax Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing one brother, Wes Stevens of St. Paul and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle and H. C. Baird of Costa Mesa, CA, Linda and Ron Pincheon of Gladwin, MI and Ruth and Larry Farmer of Ord; five nieces and nephews; twelve great nieces and nephews; two great great nieces; and a host of friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents.
