Robert H. Hancock, Jr., 59, of St. Paul died Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Randy Dilts will officiate. Interment will be held in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Robert was born June 8, 1953 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Robert H., Sr. and Dorothy (Sandquist) Hancock.

He attended school in Grand Island and then in the Fairdale area north of St. Paul. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1971.

Robert was united in marriage to Deana Jarman on July 21, 1972 in Robert's parents' house on their farm near St. Paul.

He first worked for Diamond Engineering and then for the City of St. Paul. He returned to Diamond Engineering working as a mechanic for the past 25 years.

The couple lived in the St. Paul area.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul.

Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer. He could build just about anything and enjoyed helping others, and they were involved in foster care for 13 years. He loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Deana of St. Paul; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chad & Carrie Hancock and Benjamin & Jessica Hancock all of St. Paul; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katie & Donny Poss of Elba and Tammy & Scott Skrdla of Litchfield; his mother, Dorothy Hancock of St. Paul; seven grandsons and three granddaughters; two sisters and brother-in-law, Karen Fanta of Dannebrog and Dorothy & Bruce Francisco of Grand Island.

Robert is preceded in death by his father; one son, Adam Luke Hancock and a brother Mark Hancock.
