Jessica A. Urban, 27, of Palmer died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Heaven gained a beautiful angel after Jessica lost her battle to leukemia. A battle she had been fighting since Jan. 28, 2014.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Matt Fowler will officiate. Interment will held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
It is the family's request for everyone with a "Racing for Jessica" T-shirt to wear it to the service and everyone else is requested to wear casual clothing.
Jessica was born December 13, 1986 in Central City to Boyd Jr. and Judy (Shriner) Cox.
She attended school in Wood River and transferred to St. Paul when her grandparents became ill. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 2005.
Jessica was united in marriage to Jeremiah Urban on July 22, 2006 in the All Faiths Chapel at the Nebraska Veteran's Home in Grand Island. On August 4, 2007 the couple was blessed a son, Trey whom Jessica loved more than life itself.
She was employed by MNIS in Grand Island working with people with developmental disabilities. This was a great passion for Jessica.
Jessica was a very caring person with a great sense of humor.
She was a member of Brad Motorsports.
Survivors include her husband, Jeremiah of Palmer; her son, Trey at home in Palmer; mother and father, Boyd Jr. and Judy Cox of St. Paul; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Melanie and Alan Cassell and their children, Brianna, Heidi and Keefe of St. Paul and Melissa and David Dembowski and their child, Madison of Grand Island; father-in-law, Art Urban, Jr. of Archer, mother-in-law, Lucy Urban of Central City; a brother-in-law, Jake Urban and his fiancé©, Ashley Reimers of Grand Island; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Urban, her fiancé© Will Johnson and their expectant son of Henderson; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Flora Lavonne and Boyd Cox, Sr.; Glenn (Buck) and Helen Shriner; aunts, Susan Bailey, Sharon Schirm; and cousins, Tommy Schirm and Shaun Morland Cox.
