One of seven children, Jeannine was born August 26, 1936 and raised on a farm in Greeley County Nebraska to Hazel and Everett Caudill. She attended rural grade schools in Greeley County and graduated from Wolbach High School in 1953. Jeannine fell in love with a farm boy by the name of Theodore Dean Tomlinson whom she met at a country-dance in Belgrade, Nebraska. On Saturday evenings, they kicked up their heels and danced the nights away. She and Ted married June 26, 1954.

Jean had a passion for education. Therefore, it was not long before she was hitting the books again; this time as a teacher. Jeannine began her teaching career in a K-8 one-room country classroom. Though Jean lived a good portion of her life in Nebraska with her husband and three children, she and her husband ultimately settled in Wyoming because of their teaching careers.

Several years later, Jeannine and Ted became the proud owner/operators of the Big Horn Mountain KOA Campground, in Sheridan, WY for 19 years. Jean enjoyed the outdoors. She was known for her gardening and green thumb. She often wore her sun-hat, planting rows and rows of flowers and trees.

Throughout her life, she kept busy with numerous hobbies like bowling, softball, watching UNL football and volleyball. She played a mean game of cards whether it was Pitch, Pinochle, or Bridge. She was tough to beat but always believed in good sportsmanship. Whenever family or friends got together, they could be found playing Pitch well past midnight.

She enjoyed challenging her mind through reading, Soduko, and completing crossword puzzles. Jeannine was a natural self-taught and artist. After retirement, Jean learned to play the dulcimer. She also enjoyed singing in the choir. Jean and Ted were often out on adventures, nowhere to be found! Whether it was a trip to Branson, Missouri, a gambling trip, or cruising the world, there was always fun to be had. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Often, she could be found at a sporting event cheering on her grandchildren.

Jeannine is survived by her husband, Theodore Tomlinson of Sheridan, WY, a son, James of Goldthwaite, Texas, a daughter, Teresa, and son-in-law, David Dalton and grandsons, Dylan and Clayton Dalton of Sheridan, WY, a son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Tomlinson, granddaughter, Katie and grandson Rater Tomlinson of Sheridan, WY, a sister, Laura Jean O'Connor of Papillion, NE and family; a brother, Harold Caudill and wife Dee of Dakota City, NE, Bonnie Gilpin of Wolbach, NE, Alyss Caudill of Marbelton, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Everett; mother, Hazel (Nelson) Caudill, and four brothers, Charles, Cletus, Lyle, and Richard; grandparents, Quillar and Emma Caudill and two nephews, Mark O'Connor and Kevin Caudill.
