Isabel Beyersdorf

Isabel Beyersdorf, 82, of rural St. Libory died Friday, July 19, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Zion United Methodist Church near Archer. The Reverend Janet Burgel will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Wiegert Cemetery northeast of Grand Island.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Zion United Methodist Church in Archer.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

Isabel was born June 13, 1931 to Frank & Bessie (Lawrence) Glause in St. Libory, Nebraska.

She was baptized in the Evangelical Church in Wiegert Community north of Grand Island.

Isabel attended school at District 40 rural school in Howard County. She graduated with class of 1944 as salutatorian of her 8th grade class.

She was confirmed in 1944 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church and became a member. Later the church closed and she became a member of the United Methodist Church at Archer and the Methodist Women member.

Isabel took nurses aid training at Lutheran Hospital in Grand Island where she was employed from 1955-1958.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Crawford of Aurora on March 9, 1958 in St. Libory. The couple lived on the family farm. In 1965 the couple divorced.

In 1959, she completed her schooling to receive a high school diploma from the University Extension Division of Lincoln, Nebraska.

She enjoyed nursing and worked as a home caregiver at times.

After her parents had passed away, Isabel lived on the family farm raising collie puppies to sell, caring for farm chores, gardening and raising flowers to share with others.

She was united in marriage to Robert 'Bob' Beyersdorf on November 13, 1988 at Archer. After 4 1/2 years of a happy marriage together, he passed away on April 15, 1993 of cancer.

For many years she wrote the St. Libory news in three local newspapers, the Phonograph - Herald of St. Paul, Palmer Journal and the Republican Non-peril of Central City. She enjoyed writing and wrote many cards and letters to neighbors and friends.

Isabel is survived by friends, Chris & Leah Estrela & family of St. Libory and Steve & Brenda Wissing & family of St. Libory and many distant cousins and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob and a sister Heloise Glause.
