Gary E. Wilson, 82, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at The Palm at Regency Square Nursing Home in South Sioux City.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Pastor Mark Oberbeck will be officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services.  Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Gary was born on December 18, 1942, to Glen and Opal (Angle) Wilson in Harper, Kansas.  He grew up in Madison and received his education at Madison High School, graduating in 1961.  Gary was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Carson on June 16, 1974, in Emporia, Kansas. The couple moved to Grand Island, Nebraska in 1983.  He loved gardening, as well as being outdoors helping his cousin, Marvin, on the farm. John Wayne, Elvis, and Johnny Cash are a few of his favorite artists.  He was an exceptional welder for over 11 years and ended his career in 1986.  In 2010, they moved to Sioux City, Iowa.  He was a remarkable woodworker who created numerous projects throughout the years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carolyn Sue Wilson of South Sioux City; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Joe Crabtree, Laurie and Josh Parmenter, all of Sioux City, Iowa, and Becky Wilson of South Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Wilson; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Wilson.
