Frank Teply, 97, of St. Paul died Monday, May 09, 2011 at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Joseph Javorsky will officiate. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery with military honors by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to the Wolbach Community Center Building Fund or to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul.

Frank was born July 20, 1913 to Joseph D. & Josephine Teply near Clarkson, Nebraska.

The family moved to eastern Greeley County in 1918. He attended country school District #46 in Greeley County.

He volunteered for service to his country and was inducted into the U.S. Army on April 25, 1941. He received his basic training at Camp Robinson, Arkansas with the 110 th Med Regiment. After war was declared his unit was sent to California for reassignment to other branches of the service. He was attached to the 7 th Army Headquarters in San Jose, California and was stationed in Sacramento to assist in the evacuation of the Japanese from the west coast. In December 1944 he served his orders for over seas duty. He served in Calcutta India at the CBI Headquarters and was assigned in Nampang Burma and served as Sgt. Major with Headquarters Detachment after the war was over. He returned to the U.S. and received his discharge at Fort Logan, Colorado on December 27, 1945 with rank of 1 st Sgt.

On May 7, 1948 Frank was united in marriage to Louise Nuernberger at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.

They made their home in eastern Greeley County where they farmed.

Frank retired from farming and they sold the farm in March 1980 and moved to St. Paul.

Louise passed away on April 12, 1997 and Frank continued to live in St. Paul. He moved to Heritage Living Center in St. Paul in 2004 and has lived there since.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul and Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul.

Frank is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law, Darrell & Jane Teply of Kearney and Gary & Sharon Teply of Springfield; one daughter & son-in-law, Carole & Loren Muehling of Bruning; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marialice Nuernberger of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise, three brothers, Robert, Joe & Emil Teply and three sisters, Etta Jaroska, Libbie Jaroska and Emma Jaroska.
