Evelyn Snodgrass

Evelyn Snodgrass, 86, of Palmer died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Wesleyan Church in Palmer.  Reverend Joseph Cissell will officiate.  Interment will be in Bureau Cemetery near Clarks.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Wesleyan Church or the Palmer Senior Center.

Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn was born December 16, 1929 in Merrick County to Archie and Esther (Garrett) Snodgrass.

She attended country school in Merrick County northeast of Palmer.

After her schooling she helped her father on the farm.  She also did babysitting for area families.

She moved in to Palmer in 1974.  Evelyn lived in Palmer until July 2012 when she moved to the former Heritage Living Center and then to Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

Evelyn enjoyed crocheting dollies for weddings and birthdays.  She crocheted jackets and blankets for babies of family members.

She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Palmer where she would sing solos and duets with her sister Lois.  She also served as Sunday School Secretary and did some cleaning in the church.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Jim Christy of Divide, CO and special friends, Cheryl and Lonnie Eckstrom and Marcy Santin, all of Palmer.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Snodgrass.
