(Eva) Marie Christensen, 94, of St. Paul died July 11, 2010 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Don Voorhees will officiate. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Marie Christensen was born April 13, 1916 to John & Elvina (Jensen) Rojewski in St. Paul, Nebraska.
She attended school at St. Paul. The family moved to Ogallala and lived for one year and then returned to St. Paul. Marie graduated from St. Paul High School in 1934.
Marie worked as a Telephone Operator and also as a Theater Usher.
She was united in marriage to Arnold Christensen on September 16, 1940 at St. Paul, Nebraska. To this union six children were born.
Marie worked as a clerk at Brehm Rexall Drug Store in St. Paul until retirement. She was also a mom working at home and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, the Extension Club and also a Cub Scouts Den Mother, Boy Scouts Leader, and Girl Scout Leader.
Marie enjoyed crafts, quilting, embroidering and latch-hooking. She also loved to read and enjoyed her coffee group. Her top priorities were being a mom and grandmother.
She is survived by her two sons, Roger Christensen and Terry Christensen both of Grand Island; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ann & Eldon Mock of Holbrook, NE, Kathleen Barwald of St. Joseph, NE and Kristine & Rod Dell of Alliance, NE; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother & sister-in-law, Jens 'Jim' & Jan Rojewski of Alma, NE; one sister, Phyllis Woodward of Omaha, NE; one sister-in-law, Luella Christensen of Chadron.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold in 1989, a son John 'Jack' Christensen, a grandson Scott Mock and a brother John 'Bud' Rojewski.
