Eleanor J. Moravec, 80, of Cotesfield died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. Reverend Delano Cunningham will officiate. Interment will be in the Cotesfield Cemetery in Cotesfield.
The memorial book may be signed on Tuesday from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Cotesfield Cemetery, Elba Fire and Rescue or the Elba United Methodist Church.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Moravec was born January 2, 1934 in the Fish Creek area east of Scotia to Elmer and Gladys (Meyer) Meyer.
She was raised in the Fish Creek area and attended Scotia Consolidated School where she graduated in 1952.
After her graduation, Eleanor worked at the Commercial National Bank in Grand Island.
Eleanor was united in marriage to Frankie Moravec on February 19, 1956 at the Salem United Methodist Church east of Scotia.
The couple lived on a farm near Cotesfield and Eleanor worked as a bookkeeper for the Village of Cotesfield and then for the Cotesfield grade school where she also cooked.
After the school closed, she worked at the Cotesfield Credit Union, Howard County Bank and Sherman County Bank in Cotesfield until retiring in 2002.
Eleanor enjoyed doing cross stitch, gardening and taking care of her yard. She liked living on the farm and her cats.
She was a member of the Cotesfield United Methodist Church where she played the piano until it closed and then became a member of the Elba United Methodist Church. She served as a leader for the Guys and Gals 4-H club. Eleanor received the Friend of 4-H award in 2014. She also belonged to the local extension club.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Marty Petersen of North Platte and Barb and Jeff Titus of Snyder, NE, one grandson, Shane Titus; a foster grandson, Jeremy Claypool and a step-granddaughter, Lisa Petersen and her husband Jeff Hill.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frankie on December 20, 1999; and a sister, Ramona Vlach.
