Elda F. Miller, 95, of St. Paul died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Carolyn Hellerich will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to the church.

Elda was born June 3, 1918 in Dannevirke, NE to Marius and Marie (Pedersen) Mickelsen.

She attended District #69 school southwest of Dannevirke. After her schooling she did domestic work, taking care of mothers and their newborn babies.

Elda was united in marriage to Chester Miller on January 20, 1938 in Cushing, NE. The couple lived on Chester's family farm west of Dannevirke for 36 years.

In the spring of 1973 they moved into St. Paul.

Her husband Chester died on December 12, 1993. Elda continued to live in St. Paul. She moved to Matelyn Retirement Community in November 2001 and to Heritage Living Center in August 2003.

One of Elda's goals and accomplishments was that after her retirement, she obtained her high school GED.

Elda enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and painting.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and Esther Circle in St. Paul.

Survivors include a brother, Miner Mickelsen of Hastings; six sisters and spouses, Ada Pedersen and her husband Don Goering of Fort Collins, CO, Ann Meyer of Hastings, Louise and Jack McIntyre of Wolbach, Helen and Ray Meyer of Fort Collins, CO, June Wadas of Johnstown, CO, and Dorothy and Larry Jones of Omaha and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester; two brothers, Einer and Earl Mickelsen and three sisters, Eva Larsen, Mary Jane Christensen and Joy Glines.
