Edna Elnora Webb, 104, of St. Paul, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.
A Celebration of Edna’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. Pastor Steve Neal will be officiating. Burial of ashes will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
Edna was born on August 31, 1917 to Elmer & Anna Marie (Ruff) McCoig in Eddyville, Nebraska. She grew up in the Fullerton & Wolbach areas. and attended school at North Star Rural School. She met her future husband playing kittenball. She was united in marriage to Arthur Jurgensen Webb on August 6, 1936 in Columbus, Nebraska. They farmed for many years and had a Dairy-herd while raising their 4 children, Nancy, Juanita, Katherine & Randy. After marrying Art, they joined the Lutheran Church in Wolbach. The couple retired from farming in 1999 and moved to St. Paul where they joined St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Farming was her life along with taking care of the kids and Art. She was an avid fan of Nebraska Women’s Volleyball and Nebraska Football. Edna always had a garden where she raised the best strawberries to go over her homemade ice cream.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Oeltjen of St. Paul, Juanita & Bernard Hirsch of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Vicki Webb of Kearney; sister, Wynona Kennedy of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren & spouses, Charles Oeltjen, Doug & Michelle Oeltjen, Pam & Tim Wells, Carmen Oeltjen & Henry Roe, Brian & Tanya Hirsch, Chandra & Ron Stoupa, Brandon & Jenny Webb, Christopher Webb, Danielle Webb, & Gaylen Shaw; 20 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Anna Marie McCoig; husband, Arthur Webb; daughter, Katherine Shaw; grandson, Fredrick Oeltjen; 3 sisters; & 4 brothers.
