Edna F. Pearson, 96, of Elba died Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Thomas Clark will officiate. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Cotesfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church or the Elba Volunteer Fire Department.

Edna, the daughter of Albert and Elsa (Grosch) Hilmer, was born April 20, 1918 at her parent's home in the Kelso Precinct in Howard County.

She attended school at District 47 in Howard County.

She married Allen Pearson on December 21, 1943 in Cairo, NE.

They traveled to live in Boston, MA, where Allen was stationed with the Navy. When he was again deployed, Edna returned to Nebraska to stay with her parents until he was discharged. Upon Allen's return they lived on a farm between Elba and Cotesfield, before moving to rural Farwell where they farmed until 1961 when they moved to Elba.

Edna was a lifelong farmwife, raising a garden, flowers, chickens and helping with the daily chores. She especially enjoyed baking cakes and decorating them for special occasions. She loved spending time visiting with family and friends, sewing, crocheting, crafting, and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed discovering new recipes.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul, American Legion Auxiliary and the Helping Hands Extension Club.

She is survived by son, Kenneth of Lincoln; daughter, Linda Royle and her husband Ron of Pleasanton; two granddaughters, Sara Royle of Hay Springs, NE and Abby Hinrichs and her husband Hunter of Pleasanton, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen on April 24, 2001; daughter, Marcia in 1967; parents; a sister, Adelheid Hilmer; sister-in-laws Lilly Pearson, May Pearson; brothers-in-laws, John Pearson and his wife Geneva, Victor Pearson and his wife Etta and Harry Pearson.
