Edith F. Miles, 89, of Wolbach died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.

A time to greet the family will be held on Friday, from 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Robert and Edith Miles Journalistic Scholarship in care of the Elks Club.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Miles was born May 22, 1924 at the family home south of Chambers to Raymond and Ivy (Anderson) Lienhart.

She received her education in country school district 121 during the elementary years and graduated from O'Neill Public High School in 1941.

In 1942 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Miles.

The couple made their home in O'Neill. Edith assisted her husband and his brother Arlen at the Holt County Independent newspaper in O'Neill as a typesetter and bookkeeper. In 1986 Robert sold his share in the newspaper to his brother. In 1987 the couple retired to Wolbach.

Her husband Robert died on September 21, 2002.

Edith continued to live in Wolbach.

She enjoyed reading, playing cribbage and bridge. Her family and church were the most important parts of her life.

Edith was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. She also belonged to a cribbage club in Wolbach.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Connie Miles of Yankton, SD and Gerald and Lora Miles of Lincoln; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Don Clyde of O'Neill; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; a daughter, Elizabeth Guyton; two sisters, Irene Farrell and Thelma Burt; and an infant brother, Frank Lloyd.
