Tim was born on November 4, 1931, in Scotia, Nebraska to Luther and Grace (Johnson) Timmons. He grew up in Scotia attending a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Scotia High School in 1948. He entered the U.S. Air Force on December 12, 1950, and was honorably discharged on December 18, 1953. Tim was united in marriage to Mary Ann Nealon on January 23, 1955. The couple moved to Wolbach in 1958 and were married for more than 50 years. Tim was employed at Diamond Engineering Construction in Grand Island, for 36 years, as a skilled excavator, retiring in 1997. He was an intelligent individual who built many things: bridges, roads, sewer and water lines, grain bins, buildings, engines, electrical motors…if it had an engine Tim could work on it. His hobbies included farming, and rebuilding and running his own backhoe. He designed and engineered his own steel building on his farm. Tim and Mary Ann loved traveling, antique farm shows, and polka music and dancing. He was a member of the Ray Mapes American Legion Club - Post #236 in Wolbach.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Richard Iliff of Omaha; granddaughter, Krista Iliff of Omaha; grandson and spouse, Kyle and Nicole Iliff of Papillion; great-grandchildren, Craig Keller of Omaha; Colton, Lyla, Easton, and Jaxton Iliff of Papillion; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Shirli Timmons of Brush, Colorado; sister Verlene Watson of Council Bluffs; sister-in-law and spouse, Velma and Fred McIntyre of Omaha.
