Duane G Huggins

Duane Glen Huggins, 77 of Elba, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer.  Pastor Steven Neal will be officiating.  Memorials are suggested to the family.

Duane was born on July 1, 1940 in Ainsworth, NE to Raymond and Stella (DeWitt) Huggins.  He graduated from Ainsworth Public School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1960.  He was united in marriage to Judy Pedersen on May 5, 1964 in Pierre, SD. The couple also lived in Omaha and then Elba for the past 18 years.

He helped build the Merritt Dam and worked road construction for several years.  He retired in 1998.  He enjoyed making knives, collecting guns, hunting & fishing.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Teena & William “Bill” Krueger of Valentine, brother & sister-in-law, Kenny & Janet Huggins of Ainsworth; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; & wife, Judy who passed away on September 11, 2015.
