Doug was an avid golfer and Nebraska sports fan—football, basketball, track, baseball. He was embued with a spirit of volunteerism whether it was assisting with a U of N track meet or driving the children’s train at the Lincoln Zoo. He maintained his dry wit and “corny” sense of humor throughout.
