Dorothy was born to George & Ethel (Collins) Deininger in rural St. Paul, Nebraska on May 31, 1926.  She grew up in St. Paul and received her education from St. Paul High School, graduating in 1944.  She was united in marriage to Darold Jorgensen on April 14, 1947 at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul.  They had three sons: David, Jeff and Kevin.  Dorothy taught school at Bunker Hill and was a school bus driver.  She also worked for Howard Greeley Rural Public Power District in St. Paul.

Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul, UMC Circle, St. Paul Artist Guild, and the St. Paul American Legion Auxiliary.

Darold and Dorothy enjoyed traveling and spending time at their cabin at Sherman Lake.  She enjoyed playing bridge, painting and gardening.  Her flowers were very beautiful, and she liked to watch the birds playing in her bird bath.  Her grandchildren were very important to her and she enjoyed going to all of their activities.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, David & Donna Jorgensen of Central City, Jeff & Judy Jorgensen of Grand Island, and Kevin & Peggy Jorgensen of Grand Island; five grandchildren and their spouses, Mike & Traci, Scott & Lindsey, Sarah, Justin & Meg, Jennifer and Sam; five great-grandchildren, Trevor, Tatum, Jacelyn, Natalie, and Logan.

She was preceded in death by parents, George & Ethel Deininger; husband, Darold in 2017; brothers, Warren Deininger, and Donald Deininger; and sister, Marion Rumbolz.

She now begins her afterlife with the love of her life Darold.
