Doris A. Sack, 75, of St. Paul died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4 - 8 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home with a wake service at 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Sack was born August 13, 1932 on a farm in Nance County to Frank and Josie (Klimek) Dembowski. She attended country grade schools in Merrick and Howard Counties. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1950. The same year she also received her teaching certificate.
Doris was united in marriage to Martin Sack on August 13, 1951 in St. Paul. The couple made their home on a farm southwest of St. Paul where she was a homemaker and mother. They lived there until 1960 when they moved to Fullerton. She worked as a nursing assistant and med tech at Fullerton Manor. Upon Martin's retirement in 1982, they returned to St. Paul. Doris then worked at the Nebraska Veteran?s Home in Grand Island and then Heritage Living Center in St. Paul, again as a nursing assistant and med tech. She retired in 1994 and continued to live in St. Paul.
Her husband Martin died on March 6, 1988.
Doris enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking, especially cinnamon rolls, flowers, reading, watching birds and traveling.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. In 1967 she began teaching CCD, where she taught for over 10 years. She was also a member of the Wall Street Extension Club in Fullerton.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Bev Sack of Dannebrog, Jim and Sandy Sack of Fullerton and Kenny and April Sack of Durango, CO; two daughters and sons-in-law, Annie and Ed Thompson and Carol and Randall Williams, all of St. Paul; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, DeLores Valasek of St. Paul; Darlene and Alozy Spotanski of Ashton and Deanna Kole of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin; two sons, Frank and Thomas Sack; three granddaughters, Hope Thompson, Desirey and Jennifer Sack; and a grandson, Shawn Sack.
