Doran Larson, 71, of St. Paul died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at his home in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Randy Dilts will officiate. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul with military rites at graveside given by the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Doran was born November 16, 1940 to Albert & Bertha (Broski) Larson at Valley, Nebraska.
He attended school and finished his high school classes when he joined the military.
Doran entered the United States Army in 1961. He was honorably discharged in 1963. He then entered the United States Navy in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1968.
When he returned from the military he worked at Gearhold Construction Company in Columbus, Nebraska.
Doran then moved to St. Pauland worked in Grand Island at Delicious Foods, where he worked for nearly 40 years.
He retired and continued to live inSt. Paul.
Doran was a member of the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul.
Doran was always around to help people out especially when it came to shoveling snow and planting flowers. He kept his home clean and spotless. He also enjoyed his vacations to South Dakota.
He is survived by a sisters & brother-in-law, Jeanette & Larry Powers of Columbus, NE and Bonnie Clark of Mesa, AZ; a niece Kathy Ogden of Broken Bow and a great niece, Amanda.
Doran is preceded in death by his parents.
