Pastor Donald Lee Lovell, 83, of Beaver Crossing, formerly of St. Paul, went to be with his Lord on October 25, 2023, in Lincoln, NE at the age of 83.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church in St. Paul. Pastor Daniel Bear will be officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. Memorials are suggested to Grace Baptist Church in memory of Don.
Don was born on January 22, 1940, in Peoria, Illinois to Raymond and Esther (Stomberg) Lovell on May 31, 1964. He was raised in Peoria where he graduated from Manuel High School in 1958. He graduated from the Prairie Bible Institute – Three Hills in Alberta, Cananda in 1964. He was united in marriage to Karen Carlson on May 31, 1964, in Peoria, Illinois. He began his public ministry in 1967 in Manning, ND, from there he served in churches in Salem, SD, Fort Calhoun, NE, retiring from ministry from St. Paul, NE (Grace Baptist Church) in 2005, making his home with his wife and son in Beaver Crossing, NE.
Don was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball as well as playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Lovell of Beaver Crossing, NE; his brothers, Allen (Debbie) Lovell of Princeville IL, John (Linda) Lovell of Peoria, IL; and sister, Patricia (John) Casey of Galesburg, IL. He is also survived by three children, RuthAnn (Steve - deceased) Clore of Peoria IL, David Lovell of Beaver Crossing, NE, Becky (Pat) Denesia of Lincoln, NE; four grandsons, Jake Denesia, Cody Denesia, Benjamin Clore, Joey Clore; and one granddaughter, Anna Clore.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law; son-in-law; and brother-in-law, Norman Carlson.
