Donald L. Carlson, 84, of Scotia died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday at the Chalk Hills Community Church in Scotia. Pastor Jeremiah Knoop will officiate. Interment will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery in Scotia with military honors at graveside by the Rueben Beck American Legion Post #150 of Scotia. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Donald was born December 4, 1927 to Gustavus A. & Lillian K. (Weller) Carlson at Manhattan, Kansas.
He attended school in Manhattan & Clay Center, Kansas where he graduated.
He entered the United States Navy on February 2, 1946 and was honorably discharged on December 2, 1947.
Donald was united in marriage to Marian Smith on May 15, 1959 in Colorado.
He operated service stations in Kansas & Nebraska. In his later years, he worked at Hilltop Mall in Kearney in the maintenance department.
Donald was a member of the Rueben Beck American Legion Post #150 of Scotia and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ogden, Kansas.
He enjoyed watching Nascar races and was involved in drag races and he built his own race car. He was an avid Kansas State college football fan and also enjoyed horses.
Donald is survived by his wife, Marian of Scotia; three sons & two daughters-in-law, Alan & Kathy Carlson of Eudora, KS, Tim Carlson of North Loup and Lonnie and Catherine Carlson of Seattle, WA; two daughters & sons-in-law, Terri & Bret Snyder of Wichita, KS and Dee Ann & Daniel Roy of Scotia; seven grandchildren, Zack, Jake, Cody, Charles, Amanda, Donald and Kaitlin; and a sister & brother-in-law, Joann & Les Morley of Memphis, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a son Charles Carlson.
