Dixie A. Sidel, 57, of St. Paul, died from complications from surgery on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Randy Dilts will officiate. Burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice. Dixie was born September 14, 1956 to Donald E. and Dolores A. (Ely) Kaelin in Alliance, Nebraska.

She graduated from Northwest High School in Grand Island in 1974. Dixie was united in marriage to Jimmie E. Sidel on November 13, 1981 in Grand Island, Nebraska.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Carl Mogensen American Legion Auxiliary Unit 119, Legion Riders and a board of member of the Historical Society, all of St. Paul and also a member of the St. Paul Booster Club in which she held many offices.

Dixie enjoyed all sports especially following her grandchildren's activities. She also loved antiques and junk jaunting. She enjoyed flowers as well.

Dixie is survived by her husband, Jim of St. Paul; two daughters & sons-in-law, Amy & Perry Pelc of Adams, NE and Staci & Jess Rother of St. Paul; two sons & daughters-in-law, Travis & Misty Sidel of Bellevue and Jason & Kelli Sidel of Draper, UT; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Tasha, Tori, Eli, Logan, Devyn, Daltyn, Damyn, Alexa, Trey, Emma and Dane; her mother Dolores of Grand Island; a brother & sister-in-law, Douglas & Jennifer Kaelin of Phillips; three sisters & brothers-in-law, Deb & Larry Fleharty of Fairmont, NE, Diane & Gary Johnson of Rogers, AR and Denise & Myron Powell of Greeley, CO; and numerous nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald; brother Donald E. Kaelin II; three grandchildren, Russell & Hailey Sack and Dawsyn Rother; grandparents, Louis & Elma Kaelin and Ross & Beulah Ely and Lois Ely.
