Denny O'Gorman, 61, of Wolbach, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 with his family at his side at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Wolbach Community Center or the family's choice.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.
Denny and his twin brother Danny were born Friday the thirteenth, April 1951 at St. Francis Medical Hospital in Grand Island to Patrick and Fern (Armatas) O'Gorman.
Denny started working at O'Gorman Oil Co. in 1967 while in high school, a business that his parents owned. He graduated from Greeley Sacred Heart High School in 1969.
Denny was married to Judy (Happ) O'Gorman on September 14, 1974 at Church of Visitation in O'Connor, Nebraska. From this union, three children were born, Michael, Matthew, and Bridget.
Denny and Judy owned and operated three businesses in Wolbach, Greeley and Cedar Rapids. In 2004, he sold his business to Country Partners, and continued to work for them until he retired in 2006 due to health conditions.
Denny was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He loved his family immensely, but his first love was work, and he instilled this trait in his children. Denny was often heard saying, "if you have something to do, get it done." He was most known for his sense of humor and infectious giggle.
Denny and his twin brother Danny were often called the "the cat and jammer kids" in Greeley as they left no stone unturned in their youth.
Denny is survived by his wife Judy of Wolbacha a son, Matthew and his wife Laura and their son Aiden of Lincoln; a daughter, Bridget Rath and her husband Nathan of Omaha. He is also survived by his siblings Pat and wife Judy O'Gorman of Arkansas, Sharon Martin of Las Vegas, Billy Joe and wife Marion O'Gorman of Omaha, and his twin brother Danny and wife Toni O'Gorman of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Karen Happ and special friend Chuck Anders of Superior, Sharon and Jim Goettsche of Columbus, Rita and Jack Smits of Ashland, and a brother-in-law, Larry Happ and his wife Jeanne of Palmer, along with many nieces and nephews.
Denny is preceded in death by his son, Michael; parents, Pat and Fern O'Gorman; and grandparents William and Myrtle Armatas and Patrick and Agnes O'Gorman, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Agnes and Syl Happ.
