Delores Jean Christensen was born August 11, 1927 at St. Paul, Nebraska to Ardre and Veronica (Rojewski) Roshone.

As a young girl she lived with her parents and brother, Bob, on the Markvicka place west of St. Paul until moving in 1935 at the age of 7 to the Lambert Ranch northwest of Palmer.

She attended Palmer School and in 1944 moved with her family to Newcastle, Wyoming, where her father worked on the MW Ranch.  She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1944.

In April 1945 the family moved back to Palmer where Jean worked for Dr. J. Y. Racines in Palmer as well as Ihler Drugstore in Palmer.

On November 26, 1947 Jean married Albert Christensen at Mitchell, Nebraska. They farmed north of Palmer where she was Albert’s “right hand man”, raised three daughters, gardened, canned, butchered and sewed. She enjoyed being part of a local extension club, being on a bowling league and belonging to the Wolbach Saddle Club.  After retiring from farming, they moved to St. Paul and started St. Paul Real Estate and Auction.  Jean also opened Grandma’s Cottage selling home décor items.   She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and embroidery.  After Albert passed she loved traveling with her best friend, Mildred Rigdway going to Alaska, Hawaii, Wisconsin, Oregon, Louisiana and numerous other places.  She was proud of the fact that she was able to live on her own until the age of 94 when she moved to Matelyn Retirement Community.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Dennis) Brandt of St. Paul, Connie (Elton) Flodman of Hordville, and Loretta (Mick) McDowell of St. Paul; grandchildren, Doug Brandt (Marcy Pariset), Kevin (Amy Brandt), Jennifer (Greg) Lani, Brian (Bobbi) Francis, Courtney ( Steve Wallace), Casey (Paula) Ryan and Melanie (Randy Francis) Pryor; and 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leona Sharman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardre and Veronica (Phronie) Roshone; husband, Albert Christensen; brother, Robert Roshone and his wife, Mary; grandson, Randy Francis; sisters-in-law, Julia Riley, Laura Christensen, and May Thede; brother-in-law, Carl Christensen; and dear friend, Mildred Ridgway.
