Della M. Jurzenski, 82, of St. Paul died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverends Ray Kosmicki and James Murphy will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Elba. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., with a wake service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Elba or to the family's choice.
Della was born May 22, 1928 at Cotesfield to Anton J. and Barbara M. (Graus) Jurzenski.
She attended rural school near St. Paul and then at St. Paul Public School. After her schooling, she lived with her parents where she was a homemaker and cook. Della also helped take care of her nieces and nephews.
Della was a good cook and she was known for fried chicken, popcorn balls, spaghetti, tomato sauce and noodles as well as her rye bread, Kolaches, oatmeal raisin cookies and pies.
She enjoyed listening to polka music.
Della was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul.
Della is survived by a sister & brother-in-law, Helen & Dan Svoboda of St. Paul and four nieces & nephews, Mike Nowak of Elba, Patty Nowak and Jeff Kane of San Francisco, Joan and Jesse Jakubowski and Robert Svoboda and his friend Rita Foster all of St. Paul and three great nieces, Jaden, Josie and Jenna Jakubowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marge Nowak; twin brothers, Gerald and Jerome Jurzenski and a brother-in-law, Ray Nowak.
