Debra L. (Marvin) Carroll

Debra L. Carroll, 63 of Dannebrog, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Family friend, Roger Grim will be officiating. A private burial will be held at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Nebraska.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Dannebrog and Boelus EMT’s.

Debra was born October 4, 1957 at Bloomfield, Nebraska to Dale & Lorraine (Larson) Marvin.  She was raised in Bloomfield and received her education from Bloomfield High School. She also attended Northeast Community College.

She was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Carroll on September 14, 1985.   Debra initially worked for the Nebraska Department of Social Services in Norfolk and she later worked for the Nebraska State Patrol as a clerk for the Traffic Division in Lincoln. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Nysted. Debra and her family provided a safe home for 91 foster children over the years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Carroll of Dannebrog; son, Braden Carroll of Vermillion, South Dakota; daughter, Amy Carroll of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandsons, Tyler and Tucker Oldfield also of Lincoln; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathy Koops, Pat Hilfiker, Judy and Bill Sazama, all of Bloomfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Colleen Marvin of Norfolk, Mike and Kathy Marvin of O’Neill; a very special caregiver, Angela Nelson of Dannebrog; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Morgan Oldfield; brothers-in-law, Gene Koops and Neil Hilfiker.
