Darwyn H. Pedersen

Darwyn H. Pedersen, 77, of St. Paul, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.



Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. The Reverends Revel Matheke and Rod Pedersen will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.



Visitation will be on Sunday, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.



Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.



Mr. Pedersen was born June 7, 1930 in Wolbach to Henry and Viola Mae (Townsend) Pedersen.



He was raised in St. Paul and attended St. Paul Public Schools.



Darwyn was united in marriage to Deloris Jacobsen on June 7, 1948 in Nysted. The couple lived in St. Paul where Darwyn worked for Harold Weiser in Weiser Skelgas and Appliance and Weiser Decorating until 1975. After 1975, Darwyn was self employed as a painter and appliance repairman until retiring in 1997. He was always intrigued by how different types of machines worked.



Darwyn enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, baseball and especially spending time with his family. Darwyn liked to watch the squirrels in his yard as they ate from a special feeder he built for them.



He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul.



Survivors include his wife, Deloris of St. Paul; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ron and Carol Pedersen of Thornton, CO, Doug Pedersen of St. Paul, and Jim and Julie Pedersen of Grand Island; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Schmidt of Lincoln and Sandra and Chuck Glaser of Sterling, CO; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one brother, Joe Pedersen of St. Paul; and two sisters-in-law, Arlene Pedersen and Ada Pedersen Goering and her husband, Don, of Sterling, CO.



Darwyn was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Judith Kunze and Janeice Pedersen; and two brothers, Dick and Donald Pedersen.
