Dancie D. Smith

Dancie D. Smith, 73, of Dannebrog died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her home.

A memorial service for her family and close friends will be held at a later date.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

Dancie was born Feb 16, 1940 to Gale & Marie (McCullough) Keys at Purdum, NE.

She attended country school through the 8th grade their and then attended and graduated from Halsey High School.

Dancie was married and traveled around with her first husband as he worked construction.

She then met & married her best friend & the love of her life Gale Smith on Dec 22, 1978. They resided near Dannebrog on the farm until her death.

Dancie loved spending time in her garden and taking care of her pets. She enjoyed watching the turkeys and the deer playing in the alfalfa field just outside the windows of the house. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Dancie is survived by her husband Gale of Dannebrog; a daughter & son-in-law, Kim & Brett (Smith) Lewis of Ft. Worth, TX; a son, Kevin Smith & friend Robert of Grandberry, TX; a sister, Doneta Simonton of Broken Bow, NE; a brother, Dewey "Bud" Keys of Brady, NE; a sister-in-law Bertha (Don) Keys; two brothers-in-law, Don Smith of Dannebrog and Don Muhleman of California; 3 sisters-in-law, Shirley (Smith) Ryberg of Kenyon, MN, Arlene (Smith) Kemplin of Gresham, OR, Karen & Wally (Smith) Varrette of Cottonwood, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews .

She was preceded in death by her parents; father & mother-in-law, Fenando & Zella Smith; 2 brothers, Don and Derrold Keys; a sister, Delores Keys; 4 brothers-in-law & 3 sisters-in-law, Wayne Smith, Dale & Janice Smith, Marie Smith, Beverly (Smith) Muhleman, Lee Kemplin and Vernon Ryberg.
