Dale M. Taylor, 89, of Palmer died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
Dale's wishes were to be cremated.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Wesleyan Church in Palmer. The Reverend Steve Dow will officiate. A time to visit family and sign the book will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer. Inurnment will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer with military honors by Burton Beyer American Legion Post #120 of Palmer.

Dale was born on August 3, 1923 in Hoxie, Kansas to Elva & Jessie (Haskel) Taylor.
He was raised and attended school in Hoxie, KS. He worked with his dad on the farm.
Dale was united in marriage to Viola LeMasters on April 19, 1944 in Fullerton, Nebraska.
Dale entered the military on February 23, 1945 serving in both the Air Corp and the Army during WWII. He received his honorable discharge on November 7, 1946.
After returning from the war he farmed for a short amount of time, north of Palmer. He worked for Lemmerman Service Station before he and Albert Meyer purchased the station in which formed Taylor & Meyer Oil where Dale was part owner for 20 years before selling out to Albert Meyer. He continued to work at the Station being employed there for 55 years. Dale continued to work until his retirement when he was 80 years old.
Dale was a member of the Burton Beyer American Legion Post #120 of Palmer.
He was an avid reader and loved to read westerns. He enjoyed traveling, camping and boating. He had a great love for his family, his kids and grandchildren and everybody he met. He was a true Prince of a man.
Dale is survived by his wife of 68 years, Viola of Grand Island; seven children and spouses, Roger Taylor of Grand Island, Loyd & Margene Taylor of Grand Island, Gary & Nita Taylor of Hampton, Mary & Richard Kraft of Grand Island, Nancy & Rex Bennett of Palmer, Jean Paxton of St. Paul and Deb & Denzel Jardine of Grand Island; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; three brothers, Darrel and his wife Lillian, Ray and his wife Kathy, Duane and his wife Gwen and Danny and his wife Pat; four sisters Lois, Dorothy, Hazel and Sharon and her husband Don; and a host of other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Howard Taylor and two sisters Margie and Darlene.
