Cynthia "Cindy" Rae Benson

Cynthia "Cindy" R. Benson, 47, of Grand Island, (formerly of Dannebrog) died on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Grand Island.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church in Nysted.  Pastor Bob Carlson will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Nysted Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in memory of Cynthia.

Cindy was born on December 1, 1976, to Ervin Charles and Carol Lee (Burke) Benson in Grand Island. She was confirmed at St. Peder’s Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. She grew up in the Dannebrog area and graduated from Centura High School in 1995. She enjoyed playing in the concert band. She continued her education at Platte College before she encountered health issues.  She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa.

She leaves behind her mother, Carol Benson of Grand Island, as well as other relatives and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by father, Ervin.
