Clarence E. "Sonny" Carpenter, 77, of Farwell died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.
It was Mr. Carpenter's wish that no services were to be held.
Memorials are suggested to the Farwell QRT's.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Clarence was born June 21, 1935 in Grand Island to Kenneth and Mary (Hancock) Carpenter.
He was united in marriage to Cinda Boyd on July 30, 1982 in Venice, FL.
In his early years Sonny's was employed as a farmhand on various farms in central Nebraska and then he owned a painting business, Sonny's Painting.
He was an avid gardener and loved raising chickens and for many years he ran the small animal barn at the Howard County Fair. He loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and even in his final days he always asking the scores of the Nebraska games.
Survivors include his wife, Cinda of Farwell; two sons, William Carpenter of Grand Island and Matthew Carpenter of Colorado Springs; two daughters, LaDonna Wolinski of St. Paul and Christina Carpenter of Farwell; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Carpenter of Sarasota, FL and three sisters, and brothers-in-law, Donna and LaVern Shehein of Grand Island, Sherry and Pete Callara of Medina, NY and Mary and Frosty Nehmer of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack Suiter, Steve Carpenter and Melvin Meyer and a nephew, Justin Carpenter.
