Charlie Pavlik

Charlie Pavlik, 97, of St. Paul, died Saturday, June 02, 2012 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Dan Safarik will officiate. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Charlie was born July 17, 1914 at Farwell, Nebraska to Vaclar James & Antonia (Tesarek) Pavlik.

He grew up near Farwell and attended District #52 School near Farwell.

Charlie was united in marriage to Alice Curtis on October 15, 1932 at Farwell, Nebraska.

The couple lived at various locations in Nebraska until 1941 when they moved to St. Paul.

Charlie worked at various jobs, including the railroad, road work and the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island and in 1945 he went to work for Mudloff Chevrolet, which became Clayton Petersen Chevrolet, where he worked until 1976. He worked part time at Genuine Auto Parts after his retirement from Chevy Garage.

Charlie was united in marriage to Georgia Mae McCrockan on June 6, 1979 at St. Paul, Nebraska.

They continued to make their home in St. Paul.

He was a member of the Eagles Club in Grand Island.

Charlie was a "handyman" in his own special way. He was known for his large garden and took pride in it. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. His favorite blooming plant was the Hibiscus and every year the plant bloomed on his birthday. He loved celebrating his birthday every year.

He is survived by his two daughters & sons-in-law, Charlotte & Norman Jacobsen of St. Paul and Della & Stanley Wilson of Grand Island; nine grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren; and a friend, Margaret.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Alice and Georgia Mae, one son Larry Pavlik, one daughter Bonnie Calvin, a great grandson, Zachary Pavlik and four sisters, Bessie Tuma, Mary Klanecky, Emma Safarik and Helen Horky and two brothers, James & Joseph Pavlik.
