Charles “Chuck” Thomas Tockey 80, of Sutton, Nebraska was called home on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at CHI Health - St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-6 P.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Boelus Community Center in Boelus, Nebraska. Chuck and Betty will be celebrated. Memorials and flowers are directed to the family in care of - Teresa Tockey - 907 North Saunders Ave - Hastings, NE 68901
Chuck was born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan on December 7, 1943, to Charles “Chick” and Elanore Tockey. The family moved to Boelus, NE and then several other locations in Nebraska. In 1959, the family moved to Garden Grove, CA. Chuck joined the United States Navy in 1961 for a short time. Chuck met his wife, Betty J. Nash at a carnival. Chuck lived in several cities in southern California and then, Twin Falls, ID for a short time. Finally, the family moved to Boelus, NE and other towns in NE.
Chuck was a skilled welder and fabricator. Chuck had several jobs, but the job he liked best was being a big rig driver. He also loved to work on old cars.Chuck collected Eagles and Americana items, as well as having a passion for art.
Chuck is survived by his children – Robert D. Tockey of Fairfield, NE; Charles T. Tockey of Hastings, NE, James J. Tockey and wife, Lena of Hastings, NE, Teresa L. Tockey and husband, Ray, of Hastings; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Terry and Clemintine Tockey of Lompoc, CA, and Steven Tockey of Boelus, NE.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Chick” Tockey and Eleanore Tockey; wife of 60 years, Betty; brothers, Richard L. Tockey and Philip A. Tockey.
