Charles N. Allard, 88, of Wolbach died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Interment will be held in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach with military honors by Ray Mapes American Legion Post #236 of Wolbach. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Mr. Allard was born May 3, 1920 on farm near Primrose to Harvey and Bertha (Adams) Allard. Charles attended school at Enfield District 13 from 1925-1932 and then Fullerton High School from 1932 until his graduation in 1937.
Charles served in the Army Air Corp from January 20, 1942 until October 23, 1945. He served as an airplane mechanic. He was stationed at served bases in the United States and in the North Pacific and Alaska where he was a transport engineer and was a crew chief on the P-38's. He received the Aviation Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Bronze Star for the Aleutian Island Campaign and American Theater Ribbon.
He farmed in rural Greeley County until November 11, 1999 when he retired and moved to Wolbach. He entered the Nebraska Veterans Home on December 4, 2002, where he lived until the time of his death.
Charles was a member of the Wolbach United Methodist Church and a 60 year member of the Ray Mapes American Legion Post #236 of Wolbach where he served as commander.
Survivors include a sister, Aletha Teply of Greeley; five nephews, Bill Klein of Berthoud, CO, Jim Klein of Wolbach, Tom Klein of Arroyo Grande, CA, Chuck Allard of Wolbach and Robert Teply, Jr. of Lincoln; and four nieces, LaDona Souchek and her husband Ron of Lexington, Connie Peters and her husband Doug of Columbus, Becky Bennett and her husband Wade of Archer and Roberta Teply of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lucille Klein and one brother, Glenn Allard.
