Bonnie L. Wells

March 9, 1941 — April 15, 2013

Bonnie Wells, 72, of Cotesfield died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Bryan-LGH East in Lincoln.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Martha Voigt will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Elba United Methodist Church or the Elba Fire Department and EMT's.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie was born March 9, 1941 in Ord to William and Froney (Adamek) Klanecky.

She lived with her family on the Greg Ranch in the Fairdale area in Valley County where she started school. When she was 7 they moved to the Sand Flats and she attended the Plain Valley Rural School through the 8th grade. Her father died in 1949. Bonnie attended Ord Public School where she graduated in 1959.

She then attended Kearney State College and taught 3 years in rural schools in Valley and Garfield counties. In 1963 - 1966 she taught 1st grade in the Burwell Public School. She attended summer school and off-campus classes during this time.

She was united in marriage to Ron Wells on July 1, 1966 and became the mother of Rhonda Wells. They lived on a farm near Cotesfield and two sons joined the family, David in 1968 and Jeff in 1972. Bonnie's mother died in 1983.

Bonnie enjoyed learning and reading, flowers and yard work and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, Ron of Cotesfield; children, Rhonda Wells of Oklahoma City, David Wells and his wife Joanne of Boise, ID, Jeff and his wife Natalie of Redmond, WA and Chaniece Kornegay of Oklahoma City; 5 grandchildren, Ian, Alex and Zachary Wells of Boise, ID and Anna Rose and Sophia Rachel of Redmond, WA; a sister, Barbara and her husband Wayne Rakosky of Grand Island; a brother-in-law, Leon Foulk of Ericson, NE and a sister-in-law, Mary Klanecky of Ord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Wilma Foulk, Lillian Benson and Norma Krikac; and three brothers, William, Leonard and Leon Klanecky.
