Betty A. Miller, 75, of Grand Island died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Father Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Elba. There will be no visitation held, as it was Betty's wish to be cremated.
Memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or to St. Paul Head Start.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Betty was born December 14, 1936 at North Platte, Nebraska to Dewain and Myrtle (Rowley) Coleman.
She was attended school at North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School in 1956.
After high school, she moved to Grand Island and worked at St. Francis Hospital, working as a keyboard operator, an aid and in health care.
She was united in marriage to Louis Miller on August 17, 1965 in Grand Island.
The couple moved to St. Paul where she worked at Home Care Companion in Grand Island. She later worked for Home Health and Head Start in St. Paul.
Betty enjoyed walking, swimming, sewing and bowling.
She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. She also was a member of the Altar Society, and helped to form Catholic Daughters. She was an active volunteer for the Red Cross.
Betty is survived by her husband, Louis Miller of Grand Island; her children, Melany Cooper of Grand Island, Jon Miller of Grand Island and James Miller and his wife Kristine of Omaha; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister, Janice Lippencutt of Oakland, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert, Billy and Jack Coleman and one sister Aletha Lindsley.
