Betty Green, 64, of Grand Island died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Betty was born November 17, 1947 to Harold and Velda (Stoffel) Greek on the farm in Nance County, Nebraska.
She grew up in the Wolbach area where she attended school and graduated from Wolbach High School in 1966. After high school she attended college at Personal Training Institute in Omaha.
She moved to Arlington, VA, where she worked in the Navy Annex Decorations & Awards Branch.
Betty moved back to Grand Island, where she worked at St. Francis Medical Center in the medical records department.
Betty was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach.
She was a very quiet person and kept to herself and her work routine. Betty was a very caring and thoughtful person. She always had a smile and laughed quite often even for no reason at all! She was known to her family as a great cook.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Michael and his wife Shelly of Lincoln and Dustin & his significant other Jennifer Markvicka of Grand Island and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Tim Greek.
