Benny Cyboron

September 6, 1924 — May 19, 2013

Benny A. Cyboron, 88, of Boelus died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Boelus. The Reverend Melanie Adams will officiate. Interment will be held in Loup Fork Cemetery near Boelus with military honors by Schipman-Mogensen American Legion Post #201 of Boelus.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to the Boelus Civic Center.

Benny was born September 6, 1924 on the farm near Boelus, Nebraska to John & Leona (Czapla) Cyboron.

He was raised on the farm and attended District #28 until 8th grade. He then attended high school in Boelus and graduated from Boelus High School in 1943.

After high school, he worked on the farm until he entered the United States Army in March 1944. He served in the Army during World War II starting in France and went to Germany. He was honorably discharged in July 1946.

Benny was united in marriage to Ruth Carson on June 15, 1946 in Littleton, Colorado.

In 1951, he began working at Gates Rubber Company in Denver, Colorado.

He helped to organize and was a member of the Castlewood Centennial Fire Department, where he worked as Fire Marshall until he retired in 1979.

After retirement, he moved back to Boelus and bought a farm near Rockville.

Benny was a member of the Mission Hills Baptist Church in Littleton, Colorado, a life member of the Grange (Grandview) in Littleton, the Schipman-Mogensen American Legion Post #201 of Boelus and the Colorado State Grange.

Benny was most proud of his carpenter work when he remodeled a house in Littleton, Colorado by himself. He also enjoyed playing pinochial with his wife.

Benny is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Bigelow of Fort Collins, CO; a son, Dennis Cyboron of Fort Collins, CO; two grandchildren, Dennis Bigelow of Fort Collins, CO and Caroline Bigelow of Worcester, MA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Valentine & Fern Cyboron of Grand Island, and Edward & Rose Marie Cyboron of Grand Island; and one sister, Laura Hansen of St. Paul, NE; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Cyboron and Florence Cyboron of Englewood, CO, Henrietta Cyboron of St. Paul and a brother-in-law, Donald Plambeck of Grand Island.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth; a son-in-law, David Bigelow, brothers Stanley, Adolph, Raymond, John and Leonard Cyboron; sisters, Maryann, Barbara, and Elnora Cyboron, a brother-in-law, Edward Hansen, and sisters-in-law, Rose Cyboron and Laura Cyboron.
