Arthur Snyder, 70, of Palmer, Nebraska passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Palmer. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church. Inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer with military rites at graveside by Burton Beyer American Legion Post #120.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer is in charge of the arrangements.
Art was born December 8, 1941 at Ewing, Nebraskato Marcus & Ruby (Angus) Snyder.
He grew up at Ewing and attended Ewing High School.
He was baptized in the Methodist faith.
Art joined the United States Army on July 25, 1967 and was honorably discharged on July 24, 1969.
Art was united in marriage to Velma Ellis on September 13, 1968 in Junction City, Kansas.
He worked for Dinsdale Brothers in Palmer for over 40 years until his retirement.
He loved to hunt, fish, trap and spend time with his two dogs, Stupid and Dummy.
Art was a member of the Burton Beyer American Legion Post #120 of Palmer.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Velma Snyder of Palmer; two sons, Samuel Snyder of Palmer and Tony Syslo of Omaha; five daughters & sons-in-law, Shannon White of Omaha, Felicia & Jim Anderson of San Diego, CA, Ruby & Thomas Sciuga of Baldwinsville, NY and Palm Beach Garden, FL, Kristin & John Pelc of St. Paul, and Kathy & Mike Grossi of Palmer; seventeen grandchildren and one on the way; three great grandchildren; one sister & brother-in-law, Barbara & Dorence Hobbs of Ewing and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
