Arlene M. Stutzman, 88, of Cairo died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Hayestown Cemetery, southwest of Boelus. Pastor Elgin Koehn will officiate. Arlene's request was that there would not be any visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the Church of God and Christ Mennonite in Scotia.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stutzman was born July 26, 1924 in Wood River to Menno and Mary (Stoltzfus) Stutzman.
Arlene grew up in Wood River and received her education from Hall County School District 76.
She was united in marriage to Cleve Stutzman on August 9, 1942 in Wood River. The couple made their home in Milford, NE where she was a homemaker. They moved to Cairo in 1948 and then to Grand Island in 1959 where she and her husband did mission work there. They lived there for 26 years before moving to a farm near Rockville.
Her husband Cleve died on September 26, 2006. Arlene continued to live on the farm until 2007 when she moved to Huelett Park Apartments in Cairo.
Arlene is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Twila and Jerry Harder of Hastings, MN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob & Vicky Stutzman of Cairo and Tim and Kim Stutzman of Victor, MT; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleve; a son, Mark; grandson, Van Wesley Stutzman; and a great granddaughter, Emilie Miller.
