Amanda Florence Skinner, 95 of Lincoln, formerly of Dannebrog died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Bryan LGH Hospital – West in Lincoln.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Pastor Tony Coffman will be officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Dannebrog. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
A luncheon will be held at the Dannebrog Fire Hall following the committal service
Amanda was born on July 24, 1923 on the family farm near Long Pine, Nebraska to Robert and Letta (Metcalf) Owens. She received her education at a rural school in the Long Pine area. She also grew up on the family farm in that area. She later married Philemon L. Skinner on September 7, 1938 in Bassett. They lived and farmed in various counties in Nebraska until Philemon started working for a cattle feeder Farmer in Chapman, NE. She was a mother and housewife until 1975 after moving to Dannebrog where she was self employed as a dog groomer for many years. She was greatly loved by family and friends. Amanda always had her doors open to those who needed help. She raised, and later adopted a granddaughter. She was a wonderful cook, mentor, and friend to all.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Dennis Bossaller of Lincoln, and Juanita Jo and Gary Taylor of Hampton; and 14 grandchildren; sister, Freda Skinner; brother, Robert Owens.
Amanda was preceded in death by her parents; children, Christian LeRoy Skinner, Harold Philemon Skinner and Linda Kay Thomsen; husband, Philemon; grandson, Timothy Skinner; and brother, Arlo; sisters, Clara, Marjorie, Bertha, Luella, & Margaret.
