Alice L. Gay, 72, of Ericson died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Valley County Health Systems in Ord, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Robert Gay, Jr. will officiate. A family interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Alice was born January 7, 1939 to Herbert & Irene (Bearden) Keller at Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
As a young child she and her family lived in several states in the central part of the country where they worked. Alice graduated from Manuelito High School in Denver.
Alice was united in marriage to Robert Gay on April 6, 1957 in Denver.
Alice worked at Sears in Denver for a short time before moving to Germany to be with her husband while he was in the Air Force. They were there for 3 ½ years before returning to Glasglow, MT where they lived for 2 years. The couple moved to Thule, Greenland for a year before her husband left the Air Force and they moved to Sterling, CO.
After leaving Sterling they moved to Aurora, CO. Alice lived with her parents in Loveland, CO while her husband returned to the service and was in Vietnam.
When Robert returned from Vietnam, the couple lived in Aurora, CO, Cassville, MO and Little Rock, A where Robert was employed doing contract labor.
In 1999, the couple moved to Ericson, NE where they have lived since.
Alice enjoyed reading, collecting recipes and cooking.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Grand Island.
Survivors includes her husband, Robert of Ericson; a son, Robert Jr. and his wife Yong Yun of Burke, VA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Alisa Bentley of Overland Park, KS and Annaliese and Jay Turner of Hillsboro, NC; her parents, Herbert and Irene Keller of Loveland, CO; six grandchildren, Julya Gandy and her husband Brock, Gloria Gay, Benjamin Bentley, Paul Gay, Macie Bentley and Jayme Turner; and a sister, Helen Keller of Loveland, CO.
Alice was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Keller.
