Aletha M. Teply, 87, of St. Paul, formerly of Wolbach died Sunday, August 08, 2010 at the Greeley Care Home in Greeley.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday at United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Interment will be held in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Wolbach or to the United Methodist Church in St. Paul.
Aletha was born November 29, 1922 in Fullerton to Harvey & Bertha (Adams) Allard.
She attended Fullerton & Greeley High School and graduated in 1940. After graduation, she attended Kearney State Teaching College and taught at Reed rural school near Greeley and at Wolbach schools from 1945-1946.
Aletha was united in marriage to Robert Edward Teply on August 30, 1946 at Primrose, Nebraska.
The couple first made their home and farmed in Boone County for three years. Aletha worked as a homemaker and Robert farmed in Greeley County and raised stock cattle. In 1956, the couple moved to their present farm, where they spent the rest of their married life.
Aletha enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and crafts. She also loved playing the piano and music.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wolbach, the United Methodist Women & Circles and St. Paul United Methodist Church Circles. She also taught Sunday school and Bible School.
Aletha is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Robert J. & Tess Teply of Lincoln, Nebraska; a daughter & son-in-law, Becky & Wade Bennett of Archer, Nebraska; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert E. Teply on November 2, 1991, one daughter, Roberta Teply, one sister Lucille Klein and two brothers, Charles Allard and Glenn Allard.
