Alan D. Hinze, 65 of St. Paul, Nebraska passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Brookefield Park & Care Center in St. Paul.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.   Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Al was born February 19, 1956, in Ogallala, Nebraska the youngest of four to Lloyd W. Hinze Sr. and Gretchen (Graunke) Hinze. He was baptized in the United Methodist Church in Paxton, Nebraska. He lived his first years of his life in Paxton and they moved to Arnold, Nebraska in 1966. They moved to St. Paul in 1972. Alan excelled in running sports (cross country and track mostly) as a long-distance runner. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1975. Al lived in Grand Island for six years before moving back to St. Paul. He was employed at GIA, Hornady Manufacturing and Overhead Door Company. He retired in 2018 from Overhead Door Company after 23 years of employment.

He was a strong fan of Husker football, high school football and basketball.

Alan is survived by his siblings and spouses; Lloyd Jr. & Joyce Hinze of Torrington, Wyoming, Kathy & Jim Zonek of Mexico, Missouri and Judy Washa of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Tony Washa; and two beloved dogs, Nipper and Stubby.
