Addie P. Bailey

February 17, 1918 — May 10, 2016

Addie G. Bailey, 98, of Ashland formerly of St. Paul, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul.  Father Ernesto Medina will officiate.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Bailey was born February 17, 1918 in St. Paul to Riley and Charlotte (Gardner) Gibson.  Addie was the youngest of 12 children.

Addie attended St. Paul Public School where she graduated in 1936.

She was united in marriage to William L. Bailey on May 22, 1946 in Palatka, Florida.

Addie was employed by the Howard County Judge’s office for 35 years as a County Court Clerk.  She retired at the age of 75.

Her husband, William died on April 25, 1954.

She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, having served as church secretary, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the session.  Addie was an Admiral of the Nebraska Navy and a former member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Roger Bailey of Ogallala; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Rick Case of Papillion; four grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon and Trevor Nebesniak of Lincoln, Heather and Scott Callahan of Grand Island, Angie and James Ayres of North Platte, and Andrew and Lisa Case of Omaha; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; four brothers and seven sisters.
